A student in the Fisheries and Marine Technology and Business Study Program (TBPK), Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Diponegoro University (Undip), took advantage of the semester break to participate in an internship at the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) Sukabumi Utara 01, West Jakarta. This internship lasted 42 days, from January 12 to February 28, 2026, as part of an effort to strengthen student competencies in administration, raw material handling, and food distribution.
During the internship, students were directly involved in various operational activities, particularly in administration and distribution. Activities began with assisting with the raw material receipt process, including checking the physical condition, temperature, packaging, and expiration dates to ensure the quality of the ingredients. Students also recorded incoming and outgoing raw material data using Microsoft Excel and assisted in compiling daily reports related to food distribution.
In addition, students participated in the distribution of nutritious food to beneficiaries from several educational institutions in North Sukabumi. Prior to distribution, students helped ensure that the quantity of food matched the beneficiary data and were involved in loading the food onto operational vehicles. Through these activities, students gained a firsthand understanding of the structured food distribution process, from receiving raw materials to distributing it to beneficiaries.
During the internship, students also input beneficiary data through the agency’s website and developed a Microsoft Excel-based recording system to help improve data processing efficiency. This experience provided insight into the importance of accuracy, responsibility, and data management in supporting the smooth operation of nutrition fulfillment services.
Through this internship program, students from the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) of Diponegoro University (Undip) not only gained hands-on work experience but also integrated lecture theory with practical fieldwork. This activity demonstrates the study program’s commitment to equipping students with real-world experience and relevant skills, particularly in the areas of raw material management, administration, and food distribution, to prepare them for the professional world.
