The Fisheries and Marine Technology and Business Study Program (TBPK) of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Diponegoro University, held a curriculum development workshop on November 7-8, 2024, at the Antawirya Inn Horison Hotel in Jepara. This workshop aims to design a curriculum that is in accordance with the demands of industry 4.0 and digitalization, with a focus on improving graduate competencies to face global challenges. This event was attended by 30 participants consisting of lecturers, academics, practitioners, and stakeholders in the fisheries and marine sectors. The workshop presented six competent speakers, including Prof. Dr. rer. nart. Siswo Sumardiono, S.T., M.T. (Director of the Directorate of Academic, Student and Alumni Affairs, Undip) who discussed the OBE-based Curriculum, Dr. Agus Suherman (Expert Staff to the Minister for Economic, Social and Cultural Affairs of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Chairman of the Indonesian Fisheries Scholars Association (ISPIKANI)), who discussed Technological Innovation and Digital Transformation in Increasing the Global Competitiveness of Fishery Products, and Dr. M. Setyawan Kusmulyono (Business School of Prasetya Mulya University, Jakarta), who reviewed “building an Entrepreneurial Mindset of Marine and Fisheries Oriented Students”. Other speakers, such as Ir. Artati Widiarti (Directorate of Marketing, Directorate General of Strengthening the Competitiveness of Marine and Fishery Products, Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries), Dr. Ir. Agung Setiarto (President Director of AquaEasy Indonesia), and Ir. Sudiarso (President Director of PT. Kurnia Mitra Makmur Purwakarta), shared views on the importance of synergy between industry, academia, and government in developing relevant curricula. Through group discussions and workshops, it is hoped that this will be the first step in developing a curriculum that is not only adaptive to technological and business developments but also relevant to the needs of the global job market. Going forward, the curriculum is expected to enhance graduates’ competitiveness and contribute to Indonesia’s increasingly adaptive and sustainable fisheries and maritime sector.
