Jepara, December 27, 2024 – The Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, paid a working visit to the Diponegoro University (Undip) campus in Jepara to strengthen synergies in supporting the implementation of the blue economy. This visit was a strategic step towards achieving the vision of a Golden Indonesia 2045. The event included the signing of a collaboration agreement between Undip and PT Putra Dua Perkasa and a public lecture by the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia.
During the event, Minister Trenggono, accompanied by Undip Rector, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., emphasized the importance of collaboration between ministries, universities, and the community to build a sustainable marine and fisheries sector. “Undip has great potential to be a pioneer in the development of technology and innovation that supports food self-sufficiency and the wise use of marine resources,” stated Minister Trenggono.
Undip’s Marine and Fisheries Technology and Business Study Program (TBPK) was the focus of the visit. With a focus on the development of cutting-edge technology and digitalization, TBPK demonstrates its commitment to developing innovative solutions to challenges in the marine and fisheries sector. Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., emphasized Undip’s role in supporting the blue economy concept. “The blue economy not only maintains environmental sustainability but also improves the welfare of coastal communities. Through the TBPK Study Program, we are committed to producing a generation ready to face global challenges in the digital era,” he explained.
This visit also opens up significant opportunities for students and faculty to participate in national strategic programs, such as pond revitalization and IoT-based technology development. With a spirit of innovation and collaboration, Undip is ready to be a strategic partner in realizing an independent, prosperous, and globally competitive Indonesia by 2045.
